JE-RDAP

Chenega Support Services, LLC (CSS) was awarded a Joint Enterprise Research Development Acquisition and Procurement (JE-RDAP) contract in November 2017. Under this contract CSS will provide the Joint Program Executive Office for Chemical and Biological Defense (JPEO-CBD) a low-risk solution for executing research, development, design, and integration of Chemical, Biological, Radiological, Nuclear, and Explosives (CBRNe) systems in support of the warfighter.

Leveraging our status as a wholly-owned, small business (under 1,000 employees on NAICS 541711 and 541712) subsidiary of an Alaska Native Corporation (ANC), we offer competitively priced, performance backed, customer-focused national research and development (R&D) services. With our teammates, The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA), and Areté Associates, we bring comprehensive solutions, capabilities, and specific Department of Defense (DoD)and JPEO-CBD domain experience.

Team Members

The University of Texas at San Antonio (UTSA) is the largest public educational institution in the metro San Antonio area with nearly 29,000 students. UTSA houses several research centers pertinent to the JPEO-CBD mission space, including:

  • South Texas Center for Emerging Infectious Diseases (Defense Threat Reduction Agency (DTRA) vaccine program for Francisella tularemia)
  • Center for Innovation and Drug Discovery - core competencies in high throughput screening and medicinal chemistry)
  • Research Centers in Minority Institutions Proteomics and Protein Biomarkers Cores (therapeutic targets and measurements of countermeasure efficacy)

Co-location of these centers within a large STEM educational institution is an outstanding resource for the JPEO-CBD medical countermeasure mission.

Areté Associates is an employee-owned, small business company with nearly 40 years of history serving DoD, national security agencies, and other US Government customers. Their capabilities range from fundamental physics-based modeling and simulation through prototype development including hardware, software, data processing and analysis, and low-rate production of deliverable systems. Areté Associates’ nearly four decades of work has been predominantly focused in two areas:

  • Producing new sources and methods for extracting, fusing and optimally conveying information from existing bit streams
  • Extracting information from weak signals and cluttered data and developing custom analytic solutions across a variety of phenomenologies and input spectrums.

This work has been comprised of classified and non-classified efforts and thus has had exposure to a deep and wide range of data inputs from a variety of sources. Three key elements to this methodology include registration and data conditioning, experienced-based modeling, and analytics engineering.
